Traffic Gridlock:
1. What are the advantages of toll roads? What are the disadvantages?
they can get money to pay for other roads. the disadvantage would be that not as many people would use that road because they dont want to pay.
2. Who pays the cost of toll roads? Who pays the cost of most roads?
people who drive on the road. the government pays for the roads with the peoples money.
3. How are tolls/user fees different from taxes?
taxes you have to pay but you dont have to pay tolls because you dont have to go on that road
4. Why are private companies willing to take on the risk of developing toll roads?
to make money
5. What does the fact that 40,000 cars use the 91 Toll Express Lanes in Orange County, CA every day
demonstrate about the value the drivers place on their time?
because there is more traffic and people use the express lane to get where they need to be faster.
6. One person paid $548 for 168 trips. Do the math—how much is that per trip? Was it worth it to him?
How do we know?
$3.00 per trip. its worth a lot to him because thats cheap per trip.
7. Why does the price on the 91 Express Lanes fluctuate with the amount of traffic? Is this fair?
the price agrees with the traffic because there is a lot of traffic. i think its kind of fair but not really.

definition fit with the information provided in the video?
no it does not. no my definition doesnt match it.

middle-class people?
one was a mechanic, gardner, and a truck driver. they're typically held by middle class people.
3. By interviewing “big boys with their expensive toys” is Drew Carey suggesting that all middle-class
people spend their money on fancy cars, boats, and jet-skis? What point is he making?
no he isnt saying that they spend their money on that. i think he was just making the point that all guys like expensive "toys".

Make a list. (Examples: cable TV, family vacations, etc.)
water, cable TV, SOME vacations, food, football games, clothing

several decades? Why doesn’t he use money as the basis of comparison?
he says that the proce of things have gone WAY down. because prices can change.

place?
because back in the old days im sure it was provocatave for women to dance. and men to dance, thats why Elvis had such a big impact.
2. Why did Spencer Bell choose the restaurant business over some other kind of small business?
because the restraunt business is always bringing people in whereas a normal business doesnt have that.
3. Do you think Pinal County’s anti-dancing ordinance is constitutional?
no
4. The anti-dancing ordinance has been on the books for sixty years. Is the age of the ordinance
relevant?
no because times have changed and it's perfectly normal for people to dance now a days.

trying to use county regulations to bankrupt the restaurant. Why would anyone want to do that?
because maybe of a personal hatred or jealousy.

schools and roads help people, schools educated children and roads help people get places. condominiums only house people.
2. What, according to some in the video, is eminent domain "abuse" as opposed to simply "eminent
domain"?
3. If eminent domain could not be used for private development projects, how would a developer acquire
the desired properties?
4. The mayor of National City suggests that the city government is getting a "bad rap" over this case.
What do you think he means?
5. What if most property owners are willing to sell but there are some holdouts? Is it fair for a few

CNN Student News (9/30)

Many times a year there are recalls for containmated food. This month there has been meat and.....cantaloupes. The cantaloupes have been contaminated with a bacteria called lysteria. This bacteria has caused 13 deaths and 70 people to be sick. I think that it's horrible the heath people or whoever checks the produce missed the bacteria because if they hadn't there wouldnt be any deaths. I think its good that they caught it this soon though because they have prevented even more deaths. I dont support the bacteria obviously but I do support the recall.

CNN Student News (9/28)

In August of this year an earthquake hit Washington and cracked the Washington Monument. The monument is a little over 555ft. tall so if it cracks it has a big chance of the crack becoming bigger and eventually breaking and falling. Workers were working on it to make sure that there were no cracks and no problems with it. I think this is a good idea just to be extra sure that it doesnt fall or break. I support this because the Washington Monument is special to people living in Washington and other parts of the U.S. And we dont want to see it break and fall because that would be tragic.

CNN Student Responce 9/23

Today I am writing about the death penalty. On Wednesday night Troy Davis had been on the death peanlty for 20 years and his life ended Wednesday night. Davis was accused of the murdering a savannah off-duty police officer. The police officer was helping a homeless man at the time and was shot 5 times. Through the years all the wittness have changed their stories The court ignored his last appeal and was killed wendesday night. Hundreds of protectors lined up outside of the jail the night he was going to be killed and demanded for him to be freed. I sometimes support the death peanlty, it just depends in the case and if I think the person is reLly guilty. I fell sad for the people who get killed but on the other hang I feel like like they deserve it so I don't feel sad.

Persuasive Speech

Kangaroo Leather Soccer Cleats vs. Plastic Soccer Cleats
Many people havae dissagreed for years as to which is better, kangaroo leather soccer cleats or plastic soccer cleats. I personaly use and think kangaroo leather soccer cleats are better for the foot and are much more comfortable then hard plastic. In this essay I will pursuade you that leather cleats are better then plastic cleats.
Kangaroo leather cleats are by far the most used in professional soccer. They are so popular because they are light weight, break in fast, they're strong but flexible, comfortable, and you get good ball feel because they are so flexible. They break in so fast you can wear them right after you buy them without getting blisters. With plastic cleats most people will get blisters when they're breaking them in. The most popular, best selling, kangaroo leather soccer cleat is the Adidas Copa Mundial. It was first made for the 1982 World Cup and has been the best selling leather soccer cleat ever since.
Plastic soccer cleats are terrible. They hurt the foot because they don't mold to the feet like kangaroo leather cleats do. With kangaroo leather you are able to break in the cleat in one day and can even wear them right out of the box without your feet hurting, but with plastic it takes minimum 4 days to fully break in the cleats and they hurt your  feet very badly. I couldn't find one website that said anything good about plastic cleats but I found plenty about kangaroo leather.
I know kangaroo leather soccer cleats are 100% better then plastic cleats. All my facts support my speech.
